Don’t take your next European or seaside vacation without at least a few pieces in this dreamy, subdued palette.

Mixing equal parts nautical style and East Coast prep, this trend popped up on the spring-summer runways at cool-girl brands like Miu Miu, Sacai, and Proenza Schouler, meaning it’s primed for a big season. Any coastal references are welcome: Breton stripes, sailor flares, boat shoes, gold buttons, shell jewelry, nautical netting. Feel free to incorporate one piece into a look or dress as if you’re summering in Nantucket; it’s all breezy, moneyed, and effortlessly cool.

Boho’s been back for over a year now, but spring and summer’s best runways updated the ’70s-inflected aesthetic for our current times. The decidedly vintage vibe flowing through the rest of the season is perhaps most prevalent in summer’s biggest pattern: gingham. Forget picnic blankets and Dorothy Gale; these dresses, shoes, and sets bring the print into 2025 with contemporary spins, like crewneck vests and mesh ballet flats, in all colors. Loose jackets and trousers anchored office-ready outfits at Victoria Beckham and Saint Laurent. Clean lines defined blazers at Toteme and Tory Burch. And vest sets are everywhere at the moment, now rendered in summer-ready materials like linen. Top it off with some sleek strappy sandals and you’re good to go.
