Milan is getting ready to host its next editions of specialised trade shows including Micam Milano, the international footwear show, Mipel, the event dedicated to bags and small leather accessories, Milano Fashion&Jewels, an event dedicated to fashion accessories, clothing and jewelry, which will also host a special edition of the outerwear and haute-à-porter show The One Milano.
On the same days, Lineapelle, an international exhibition of leathers, accessories, components, fabrics, synthetics and patterns, and Simac Tanning Tech, an international exhibition of machinery and technology for the footwear, leather goods and tanning industries, will also take place.
The upcoming edition of Mipel will be held in the Fiera Milano-Rho exhibition area from 15 September to 17 September 2024, at the same time or partially overlapping with the other Milanese trade shows.
Promoted and organized by Assopellettieri, the Association representing Italian leather goods companies, the event offers a key occasion for the industry and insiders. Also supporting the initiative are Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and Agenzia ICE, and the City of Milan.
Inside Pavilions 1, 3 and 7 Mipel will present a comprehensive selection of the new s/s 2025 collections of more than 200 brands including both established and emerging brands from more than 15 countries.
The event will also host “Mipel Overseas” inside Hall 7–in the same pavilion of with Milano Fashion&Jewels–which will exceptionally open its doors to upon-invitation only visitors one day earlier, on Saturday, 14 September.
“Mipel plays a key role in the affirmation of small and medium-sized companies that need trade shows’ support to grow and enhance their visibility and opportunities in both domestic and foreign markets. Thanks to the international nature of our show, we can count on the presence at the fair of buyers from more than 70 countries,” said Claudia Sequi, president, Mipel and Assopellettieri.
“It is undeniable that we are in an extremely difficult time for both companies and the industry in general. Confirming one’s presence at an event like Mipel is essential. In times like this we must not miss opportunities for business, visibility, sharing experiences and learning what’s new from a sector that is vital for the country,” he added.
Showcase Milano, an exhibition space reserved for Italian fashion and design companies selected on the basis of distinctive criteria such as creativity, innovation and research, will also return.
Among the most innovative and noteworthy activities, there will also be some live shopping sessions led by international live streamers. A few live streamers participating in the show will select and broadcast some exhibitors’ products through their social channels.
Live shopping streaming are especially trendy in Asian countries. Mipel has already started hosting them for a few seasons thanks to its partnership with Mirta, the digital showroom that connects local contemporary brands with international curators.
A special focus will then be reserved for the Trend Area inside Hall 3, through a space hosting the most interesting s/s 2025 trends, carefully selected by the Mipel’s Fashion Committee.
On Sunday, September 15 from 6:30PM, the Mipel Cocktail Party will also take place at the show’s Trend Area. The event, reserved for buyers and exhibitors, will be a privileged networking opportunity offering a moment of relaxation, discussion and sharing of strategies and opportunities.
