A sustainable fashion and events venue has been severely damaged by a flood.
The Circular Studio in Caerphilly had to cancel all its events after a major flood hit its new event space earlier this week.
The flood was caused by internal plumbing failure and has left the event space with damaged flooring and stock, which is expected to cost the venue thousands of pounds to repair.

Despite this blow, the studio launched an emergency fundraiser that has been a huge success.
The founder, Sam Eastcott, discovered the extent of the disaster and recorded footage of the water damage in the unit.

Colleen Calnan, the head of operations, said: “What started as an exciting week of events quickly turned into a crisis.
“We had to cancel workshops and shopping days, and the financial hit was severe.
“However, we refused to let this stop our mission.”
In response to the damage, The Circular Studio launched the “Flash Flood Fundraiser” event, offering big discounts to raise essential funds for repairs.
The response from the community was more than they could have hoped for.
The fundraiser, which was scheduled for Saturday, November 1, sold out quickly, with the studio having to add extra slots to meet demand.

The event features a £1 flash sale in the event unit and a 20 per cent discount across the main studio’s curated stock, with every penny spent going towards the repair fund.
Sam Eastcott, founder and managing director of The Circular Studio, said: “The way the community has instantly gathered around us has been genuinely moving.
“The ticket sales prove that people believe in what we are building here.
“We anticipate an absolutely amazing turnout this Saturday as people come to grab a bargain and help us rebuild.”

Ms Eastcott opened The Circular Studio in 2024 as an ‘accident’ as she was passionate about creating a space in Caerphilly that celebrated inclusivity because she wanted to give people the opportunity to connect all while keeping her core values of sustainability at the heart of the business.
She said: “We’ve shared our experience on social media, are we are truly overwhelmed by the support our community has shown us.
“It really has reminded us of our purpose and why we love what we do here at The Circular Studio.”
