These 5 Jewellery Trends Will Be Huge In 2025

During conversations with various jewellery designers for this piece, the same phrase popped up again and again: modern heirlooms. Increasingly, consumers are seeking out pieces that feel current but can also be worn for years to come, becoming increasingly special over time. “We always talk about our jewellery as modern heirlooms – forever pieces with meaning,” says Alighieri founder and creative director Rosh Mahtani. “It’s been really beautiful to see how this is now becoming a trend. More and more, people want to feel connected to the objects they carry every day.” Copenhagen-based Nadia Shelbaya concurs. “The modern consumer is less prone to go for quick fashion jewellery choices,” she says, pointing to one of the classic pieces she herself can’t stop wearing: “My take on a solitaire necklace, inspired by Charlotte Gainsbourg and set with a cushion-cut diamond.” For her fellow Dane Sophie Bille Brahe, modern heirlooms take the form of initial rings, like the Lettre de Lumière B and J rings she wears every day to represent her children, Beate and Johan. “For me, bespoke or individualised pieces offer a meaningful way for wearers to express their unique identities and honour special moments,” she tells Vogue. “These pieces become beautiful symbols of cherished memories, and have the ability to carry so much history.”

Good vibes only

It’s January, when thoughts often turn to manifesting positive change and good energy for the new year, so why not use your jewellery to help you do it in 2025? “I love the age old notion that jewellery can help keep your fears at bay as well as make you feel whole,” says Claire Le Marquand, who co-founded the Gwyneth-approved jewellery brand Kirstie Le Marque with Kirstie Beecroft. “With that in mind I will wear my Diamond and Emerald Evil Eye necklace to repel any bad vibes, and shall layer this with the Good Fortune locket to attract some abundance in 2025!” Mahtani, meanwhile, will be adding even more charms to her rolo chain, which currently boasts “a Leone medallion for courage, a Zodiac Cancer medallion for someone close to my heart, the Poet’s Pencil to write the future, and our fish Silhouette of Summer charm to represent abundance. I’m really looking forward to adding more talismans as the year unfolds,” she says.

Maximum charm

Quiet luxury, we hardly knew ye. While last year was all about a simple, statement gold earring (Vogue’s Alice Cary unofficially declared Bottega Veneta’s Drop earring the most-duped jewellery item of 2024), perfect for pairing with your low-key blazer and ballet flats, the jewellery mood for this year is a little more… extra. “2025 is all about maximalism,” says Beecroft. “I will be totally embracing the boho trend next year and my jewellery will very much be reflective of this. Our Crystal Ball necklace is a piece I love to put on every day, paired with our articulated Diamond Fish pendant, which is covered in pavé set diamonds. Instantly I have a great, eclectic, layered look.”

There are more subtle ways into the layered look, too: Completedworks founder Anna Jewsbury, whose conscious designs have captured the hearts of stars like Jodie Comer and Adwoa Aboah (not to mention countless British brides), is excited by a “sense of duality – combining minimalism with moments of maximalist expression”. In addition to wearing a strong, statement cuff “as armour”, Jewsbury intends to “mismatch pieces together in a way that doesn’t quite make sense” in 2025.
