Alo Yoga Tennis Club Sweater Knit Dress Review

I was fully on board when the tenniscore trend boomed last spring, thanks to Zendaya’s press tour looks for Challengers. Since then, I’ve kept the preppy athletic pieces in my rotation and concluded that the polished and sporty look of my favorite skirts, dresses, and collared tops is virtually timeless. 

Some of my favorite brands, such as Alo Yoga, are keeping the trend going in 2025. I added the Tennis Club Sweater Knit Dress to my warm-weather wardrobe two months ago, and it’s been a mainstay in my outfit rotation. It’s safe to say that other people, not just me, are also keeping tennis-inspired styles at the forefront of their closets since the dress is nearly sold out in black and green. However, it just launched in a vibrant hue in time for summer: white with candy red accents.

Once temperatures rise in the spring and increase in summer, I rely heavily on low-lift pieces that look trendy with minimal effort. Although made with a 100-percent cotton sweater material, this soft, knit dress is still breathable without being sweat-inducing (and this is coming from someone who runs hot). It features a body-hugging fit that’s flattering and comfortable for all-day wear, although I suggest sizing up if you prefer a roomier fit. 

Although substantial, the fabric is still lightweight and effectively conceals undergarments, even the white version. It combines a scoop neckline, an A-line skirt, and has thick tank top-style straps that keep bras covered. I receive loads of compliments every time I wear it, and nothing thrills me more than knowing it took only minutes to piece together an outfit. One of my favorite ways to style it is with a denim jacket and sneakers; for brunch, I opt for sandals. 

Shoppers also can’t get enough of the ultra-flattering dress. It’s “very comfortable,” according to one who noted that it’s easy to style for an “effortless and chic look.” Another person said it “fits like a glove” and loves how easy it is to care for. To maintain the shape, I wash it on a gentle cycle in cold water and hang it to dry to avoid any shrinking.
