Aspen winter is hitting the road in high gear and will not be downshifting anytime soon. We all think about preparing our bodies for the impending ski season, but this winter, I advise also readying your body (and perhaps your wallet) for the social and fashion-focused marathon that is about to ensue. Buckle up, buttercup.

On Dec. 16, UK-based brand Marfa Stance will celebrate its new store on Cooper Avenue with a British pub party paying homage to its across-the-pond roots. Think pints, crisps, and other pub fare, complemented by live local music and the brand’s modular, reversible outerwear. Marfa also recently launched A Shared Stance, a capsule collection engineered for men, which will be on display at the event. Stop by from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday to browse the much-buzzed-about brand’s collections while indulging in a little pub culture in the mountains.

In other fashion news, Swedish fashion-brand TOTEME (with a store on Hopkins Avenue) has launched an Aspen collection featuring eight exclusive pieces that are the definition of superior winter dressing. The collection — rendered in shearling, leather, and cashmere — comprises a range ideal for the colder climes and high-fashion streets of Aspen. Featuring reinterpretations of iconic TOTEME winter designs, the collection is only available in the Aspen boutique and includes some true standouts, like a black and white shearling coat, a shearling purse, and even a shearling dress. Make sure to stop by the boutique to check out this very special launch from one of the most sought-after brands in the industry.

New York-based men’s brand JACQUES is hosting a trunk show at Pitkin Country Dry Goods featuring the brand’s fall and winter collection on Monday, Dec. 22, from 2-6 p.m. Carbondale’s Marble Distillery will get in on the action, serving specialty drinks and offering a spirits tasting while shoppers browse the thoughtful designs woven from all-natural fibers (think virgin wool and cashmere-silk blends). Perfect timing to find something for the well-dressed men on your list.

Finally, if you found what was left under the Christmas tree or your Hanukkah gifts disappointing, there is some good news: Celine will open a  pop-up in The Aspen Times building at the Hotel Jerome from Dec. 27 to Dec. 31. What promises to be one of winter’s most exciting pop-ups, Celine — a fashion-girl favorite — will feature a plethora of both wearable and statement-making pieces from its winter and spring collections. Go big before the pressure of New Year’s resolutions has you promising to shop less.
